Our first Music In The Parks event is coming up on Saturday, April 21, 2018. For those of you who do not know, we serve as a host site for Music In the Parks Kings Dominion Music Festivals. Bands, Choirs, and Orchestras from all over the east coast come to CHS to perform at the MITP Festival before heading to Kings Dominion for a day of fun. We have six dates that we are hosting this year – 4/21, 5/5, 5/12, 5/19, 5/26, and 6/2. We typically need help running the site from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Some days are a little longer, some are a little shorter. We need 5-6 parents to help with various things like registration, stage manager/announcer, parking, and concessions. Parents can sign up in CHARMS. We also need about 10 students to help with various things throughout the festival. Student sign-up sheets will be posted on the board in the front of the Band Room. This is a great fundraiser for us (last year, we made close to $10,000) and we need to continue to run a great site so we can continue to host in the future. Thanks!

Happy Spring!!!

Here is the update for Thursday, 3/22/18…

With the cancellation of school today, the District Concert Assessment event has been moved to next week. Concert Band will perform on Tuesday. Wind Ensemble will perform on Wednesday. The event will still be held at Massaponax and will follow the schedule that I sent out yesterday. This gives us a couple of extra days to practice and a couple of extra rehearsals. We need to stay sharp and use this extra time to our advantage as we head into next week.

Winter Guard Rehearsal for tonight is cancelled due to the School Closing.

I anticipate that we will return to school tomorrow and will resume our normal schedule.

We will be keeping an eye on the weekend weather…and will notify everyone of any changes to the weekend schedule.

That’s all for now. If you have any questions, please let me know.

With Pride!!

Mr. Leonard
